GCISD Parents is the oldest conservative parent-led PAC in our district. Officially established in 2020, we're dedicated to restoring GCISD's academics, supporting teachers, and returning to fiscal responsibility.
To create an optimistic environment within GCISD that fosters achievement and reflects community values.

Early in January of 2022, GCISD began implementing its first-ever comprehensive phonics-based elementary curriculum resource for reading and writing. The 5 campuses with the greatest needed, including those with primarily Spanish-speaking learners, started in January. The remaining 6 elementary campuses began the following August. Watch this video featuring Superintendent Schnautz and Dr. Ray, Director of ELA & Literacy, for more details.
In May of 2023, the GCISD Board of Trustees voted in the largest pay increase in GCISD history -- a 4% across the board pay raise for all employees. Starting salary for teachers, librarians, and nurses is at an all-time high. All non-teaching professionals also received the 4% from midpoint raise. See articles from Community Impact or GCISD News for more details.
At the August 22, 2022 school board meeting, the Board passed the first policies of their kind in the nation to protect the hearts and minds of all GCISD children. The passing of these policies marked the end of the local "culture war." Now it's time for all eyes to focus on Academics.
On September 25, 2023, GCISD's trustees voted to reduce the tax rate for the fifth consecutive year. The 2023 total tax rate will be $.9247 per $100 valuation for 2023, which is 20.61 cents less than the total 2022 tax rate. Collectively, the Board has reduced the total tax rate by 47.2 cents over the last 5 years.
GCISD has 7 trustees and 1 superintendent chosen by those trustees. The trustees are elected officials who hire the superintendent. They are the superintendent's "boss." The superintendent then handles the daily affairs of the district.

GCISD Parents was officially established in 2020 by 5 GCISD families concerned about our schools. Since that time, our membership has grown to over 1,000 local individuals with a shared passion for our district and community.
We recognize and respect the importance of the family unit, and firmly believe that parents should be the primary influencers on the values of their own children. To facilitate that, we've actively engaged with teachers and administrators since our inception, and will continue to do so into the foreseeable future.
Our diverse membership includes parents, teachers, community members, and GCISD employees from across the spectrum. As one, committed voice, we want to restore a culture of hope, courage, and joy within the Grapevine-Colleyville Independent School District and eliminate fear of retaliation or cancellation from the mind of anyone in our community.
We believe every child deserves the opportunity to get a great education in a healthy learning environment, and it's our goal to make that happen.
