As of 9/23/22 at the latest, all GCISD counseling videos that were available for public view on the district's website have been removed. These videos were allegedly intended as informational resources to parents. After it was pointed out that all of the videos were politically biased toward the extreme left, they were taken down from public view. It is likely that parents asking for resources will still be referred to these highly biased videos which featured local presenters within the direct and personal network of counseling leadership.
UPDATE: The district removed this video from its YouTube around 8/26/22, the same day that an article came out exposing it. We had a backup.
An outside consultant from MCP Counseling gives "pronoun" training to GCISD's counselors.
She endorses transgenderism, that gender is identity (not Biology), the use of gender-neutral language, and recommends <tolerance.org> which is now <learningforjustice.org>. Learning for justice is a highly political organization.
A representative from MCP Counseling provided this training to GCISD counselors free of charge.
Who authorized this outside progressive group to come speak to our counselors?
Were the counselors being paid by the ISD at the time they were attending training?
Defines gender roles as "the set of roles, activities, expectations, and behaviors assigned to females and males by society." Says that gender is not Biology--it's a social construct.
Tips given to counselors to let go of the idea that there are two sexes. She advocates for gender-neutral language, including "they" as the student preferred pronoun.
Promoting the idea of a gender spectrum to any GCISD student is in direct violation of policy EMB(LOCAL).
Recommends a progressive website designed to help teachers guide the discussion for students on their gender.
Gives advice for how to frame the discussion about gender status to parents, regardless of parent beliefs.
She mentions parent belief systems as an obstacle more than once in the video.
If a student does not embrace the ideology of the LGBTQ community, that student it labeled a "bully." The moderator provided techniques for the counselors to "re-train" the "bully" into acceptance of the ideology.
As of August 22, 2022, GCISD has adopted policies clarifying the District's stance on gender identity and fluidity in policy EMB(LOCAL).
"District Personnel and Agents shall not teach, instruct, train, or otherwise require any other district personnel or agent to teach, instruct, train, or otherwise communicate to any individual or group topics regarding sexual orientation or gender identity unless and until those individual persons or the entire group has fully completed the fifth grade."
"District Personnel and Agents, while acting as agents or representatives of the District, shall not teach, instruct, train or otherwise promote Gender Fluidity (as defined herein). Nor shall District Personnel and Agents be required to adopt, support, or promote Gender Fluidity (as defined herein).
Mom discusses GCISD's procedures for students officially changing their pronouns.
According to the current district process, counselors are not obligated to inform parents that their children are receiving counseling.
She points out that the majority of students in GCISD are minors and asks the board for the legal basis for withholding information from parents.
As of August 22, 2022, district policy EMB(LOCAL) set clear boundaries for the district's stance on pronoun usage.
"The District will not promote, require, or encourage the use of titles or pronoun identifiers for students, teachers or any other persons in any manner that is inconsistent with the biological sex of such person ..."
"However, to the extent a student (with the written consent of such student's parent or legal guardian) ... has specifically requested or directed the use of a specific title or pronoun ... District Personnel ... may comply with such request at their discretion."
As of January 19th, 2022, students may receive counseling about changing their pronouns WITHOUT parent consent. The district has no written policy.

GCISD paid $30,000 for a survey focused on asking children about the racial mix of their friend groups as well as how the school helped students speak out against racism.
Is it necessary to survey our students about their racial interactions?
Why did GCISD pay $30,000 for a 3rd party vendor to harvest data on our kids?
Where did that data go and how was it used?
6th & 8th graders were given a survey without parent consent about whether or not they have ever had sexual intercourse or participated in sexting.
Was it appropriate for our children to be asked about their sexual activity?
Why is this data being collected at all?
Where did that data go and how was it used?
In policy FFEA(LEGAL), the district requires written parent consent before giving students surveys. Neither of these surveys received this consent prior to them being given to our children.
Why didn't the district get parent consent before asking our kids about their racial interactions and sex lives?
Were there any consequences for the district not following its own policies?
