WFAA on GCISD Student Book Club (11.2.22)

GCISD Parents supports the recent library policy passed by our Board of Trustees.  This policy empowers parents by moving books with controversial themes to a parental consent area of the library.  


The “Challenging Themes Book Club” is proof that the policy is performing as intended and that, with parental consent, students can access books with controversial themes. 


We are pleased that Tommy Rogers was able to work within the confines of the policy to share his love of reading.

CBS DFW on dr. whitfield's removal

CBS DFW covers the story of Dr. Whitfield being placed on Administrative Leave by the GCISD Administration. The former Principal claims his dismissal was part of a larger ideological plot to remove certain types of educators.
