At this year's 2022 Grapefest, GCISD Parents partnered with Holton's Drive for SIDS, a local non-profit organization that collects donations to fund research into SIDS. Anticipated earnings are above $2K!
Thank you to all of our enthusiastic volunteers!
One of the best ways to stay informed about what's going on in GCISD is to attend the monthly Board of Trustee meetings. Community members are given the opportunity for public comment at each of these meetings. GCISD Parents have volunteered to speak on topics of concern and mutual interest with the district since our founding in 2020.
This summer of 2022, the GCISD Parents community donated 100 backpacks to disadvantaged students in GCISD through the CONNECT program. Follow the link to see how you can help more!
Last year, our administration offered an unprecedented level of transparency by holding 2 parent book review meetings regarding instructional materials in our curriculum. Eager to aid, many of our parents provided feedback that will help define "community values" for our district. We look forward to further partnering with Admin & educators in the future!
Our parents are some of the most involved in GCISD, and our district has many needs that we have the opportunity to meet. Simple and timely in-kind donations, like multiple 40-count cases of water bottles, are all it takes to make a difference. That's why our parents donated to this year's GCISD Convocation for teachers and staff! Stay hydrated, folks!
Our kids want to be involved in all of the fabulous extra-curricular activities our district has to offer, and band is no exception! As many of you know, a large part of the band budget derives from concessions. That's why our dedicated band parents team up to help with concessions whenever needed!
One of best well-known non-profits in GCISD is GRACE. Our families and community members give freely of their time at the "Donation Station" and "Food Pantry" to assist those in need. This is a great opportunity to teach children how to give back to the community they love!
Mid-January, members of GCISD Parents donated 130+ hours inventorying the district's first ever beginning reading curriculum! Supporting education by getting these materials into the hands of our teachers is central to our goals. Thank you to our Board of Trustees who purchased this curriculum last December!
